Pictures of Morocco

While I was traveling, I was posting from my iPad, both words and pictures.  That was great, but an iPad does have limitations.  Now that I am home with my trusty Dell laptop, I want to share more of the great sights of Morocco.  Here we go, in no particular order.

This craftsman in Marrakesh is a plaster carver, doing beautiful, minutely detailed work by hand.  We bought the V shaped piece in the lower left picture, because of the wonderful honeycomb representation.

This whimsical chalk drawing marks the door of the fire maker – he feeds sawdust to the furnace that heats the water for the hamman, the public bath. He spends his day crouched below street level, sitting on a pile of sawdust, throwing it onto the flames one handful after another. All. day. long.
